BACK IN STOCK: GLYPHOSATE-TESTED

FREEZE-DRIED ORGANICYELLOW AND RED MISO POWDER

Fermenting organic soybeans radically alters their nutritional properties, changing them from an estrogen-mimicking food to anti-estrogenic. The fermentation process used to create miso also unlocks the soybean's full nutritional potential while improving digestibility. This may be one reason why miso is considered a food staple among super-agers.

The Health Ranger Store is bringing back the ultimate fusion of comfort and nutrition with our lab-verified Freeze-Dried Organic Red and Yellow Miso Powders. Our premium red and yellow miso powders are vegan, non-GMO, non-China, and are certified organic and Kosher. They contain no added gluten or wheat, and are lab tested for glyphosate, heavy metals, and microbiology.

Supplies are always limited for this product, so stock up now while inventory lasts. These mixes are carefully freeze-dried to extend their shelf life and protect their potency. You can add them to a variety of dishes to enhance their flavor or mix them with hot water to make your own delicious miso soup.

WHAT IS MISO?

Bursting with flavor, miso is a paste made from fermented soybeans, barley, rice, and oats. It's usually mixed with salt and a koji starter to create a stunning range of miso tastes, colors, and uses. A staple in Asian cultures, miso is a versatile condiment that can be used in a wide variety of recipes. It provides a rich, savory taste and offers excellent health benefits.

Health Ranger Select Organic Freeze-Dried Red and Yellow Miso Powders are made with fermented organic soybeans, organic rice, sea salt, and organic Aspergillus oryzae as the fermenting agent. After fermentation, these miso powders are carefully freeze-dried to preserve their freshness and nutritional qualities.

Also known as “shinshu miso,” yellow miso is made from organic soybeans that have been fermented with a small percentage of organic rice. It is sweeter and milder than red miso and has a mellow, earthy flavor. Yellow miso is perfect for broths, condiments, soups, marinades, dressings, and glazes. Its color ranges from yellow to light brown.

Health Ranger Select Organic Freeze-Dried Yellow Miso Powder is made using only the highest-quality soybeans and produced in a USDA Certified Organic Facility. This 100% pure miso powder contains no added wheat, gluten, or any harmful additives. This nutritionally rich powder provides an abundance of nutrients, such as calcium, iron, copper, manganese, potassium, and vitamin C.

Ranging from red to dark brown in color, “aka miso” or red miso is also made from organic soybeans fermented with organic rice, though with a higher concentration of organic soybeans and a longer fermentation period. Red miso is high in protein and best complements most meaty vegetables, such as eggplant and mushroom. It is perfect for hearty soups, braises, marinades, stews, gravies, and glazes.

Health Ranger Select Organic Freeze-Dried Red Miso Powder has a stronger flavor than our yellow version. We therefore recommend using it sparingly so as not to overpower milder ingredients. Our red miso powder is produced in a USDA Certified Organic Facility and is certified Kosher. It is also lab verified to meet our A+++ high standard for being clean and free from toxic levels of heavy metals. Our non-GMO red miso powder delivers plenty of vitamins and minerals that support healthy bones and immune function.

THE FERMENTATIONPROCESS IS THE KEY

Miso has wound its way through the history of nuclear accidents and atomic bombs as a functional food with extraordinary properties. These properties, however, come from the fermentation process, not the soy itself. Fermenting soy radically alters its chemical properties, changing it from an estrogen-mimicking food to an anti-estrogenic food. The fermentation process used to create miso unlocks its full nutritional potential while improving its digestibility.

If you want to experience the health benefits of the ultimate fermented food, you can enrich your dishes with the exotic flavors of either red or yellow miso.

RADIOPROTECTIVE EFFECTS

CREATED BY FERMENTATION**

Although this study wasn't conducted on our miso product -- and we make no claims of our miso being radioprotective -- it's an interesting look into the history of miso in terms of food science and radioprotection.

A study published in 2013 conducted by Japanese researcher Hiromitsu Watanabe tested various types of miso on mice exposed to ionizing radiation. He was investigating whether soybeans themselves have a radioprotective effect, or if the protection comes from something created by bacteria during the fermentation process (miso is made from fermented soy).

The answer was clear: "The mechanism of the radioprotective effect of miso is considered to be closely related to substances produced during fermentation stage," Watanabe explains.**

HEALTH BENEFITS OF MISO**

Supports healthy digestion

Supports a healthy immune system

Uplifts and elevates your mood

Fermented miso can help support your body's natural ability to digest and absorb foods. Many people in Japan begin their day with a bowl of miso soup to support their digestive system and energize their bodies. Miso is also rich in dietary fiber, which further maintains healthy digestion.

Miso soup is often used as a traditional remedy for mood support. Try a nice, warm bowl of miso soup the next time you need to lift your spirits.

You can support healthy immune defenses by eating fermented foods like miso that maintain healthy gut flora. Miso also contains plenty of immune-supporting antioxidants that can combat harmful free radicals.

Supports healthy cardiovascular function

Maintains optimal cognitive health

Supports a healthy nervous system

The isoflavones present in miso support healthy cholesterol levels already within the normal range. Miso also contains an abundance of antioxidants that can help protect your heart from oxidative stress.

Fermented foods can support a healthy brain and cognitive function. Studies show that the acetylcholine in fermented soy plays a vital role in memory formation.

Miso contains high levels of B vitamins, including vitamins B6 and B12. Your body needs these vitamins to maintain the optimal health of your nervous system.

Supports strong and healthy bones

Supports sensible weight management plans

Wide range of extremely bioavailable nutrients

You can get plenty of calcium, potassium, isoflavones, and vitamins E and K from miso soup. These nutrients can support strong and healthy bones.

When accompanied by a well-balanced diet and proper exercise, miso can help you achieve your reasonable weight management goals. Miso is also a rich source of dietary fiber, which can naturally help curb an appetite.

Miso is packed with highly bioavailable nutrients, including copper, manganese, phosphorus, fiber, zinc, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, B vitamins, and vitamins E and K. Miso soup also contains isoflavones, saponins, melanoidins, and plant-based protein.

WHY I DON'T EAT SOY, BUT I DO EAT

ORGANIC MISO

Personally, I don't eat soy. No soy burgers, no soy protein, no soybean oil and not even steamed edamame. But I do eat small quantities of miso from time to time because fermented soy is unique. It's not the same food as un-fermented soy.

If you eat miso, make sure it's made from organic, non-GMO soybeans. Soy is one of the most common genetically modified crops, so you have to choose organic to avoid GMOs.

Miso comes in different grades based on fermentation duration. The longer the fermentation time, the higher the grade and the more expensive the product. Even fermentation of just 3-4 days produces significant beneficial properties.
